by Linda Sue Park, David Almond, Eoin Colfer, Deborah Ellis, Nick Hornby, Roddy Doyle, Time Wynne-Jones, Ruth Ozeki, Margo Lanagan, and Gregory Maguire (Scholastic, 2007)
Ten authors collaborate to contribute a chapter in the life of the mysterious George "Gee" Keane, photographer, soldier, adventurer and enigma. Each chapter brings something new to the table for readers and writers. This novel presents an interesting study in style, voice, and character. Chapters can stand alone, if necessary; however, as a whole it provides an interesting template for a creative writing experiment. Students are sure to be intrigued by the different lives portrayed in the novel and may want to learn more about the real issues that are depicted in Gee’s photography.
