The Elements of Murder: A History of Poison
The Elements of Murder: A History of Poison
written by John Emsley
Rich in history, science, and murder and mystery, this book explores some of the most lethal elements.

Read personal stories about Victory Gardens:
  • Create an interactive periodic table incorporating tales of mishap and murder from the book.
  • Listen to the interview with John Emsley on National Public Radio. What would you like to ask him? Write him a letter in which you critique his work and ask your questions.
  • Create a timeline showing the history of one element. Be sure to include important people, medical and uses, as well as current events.
  • Write a murder mystery that incorporates the information from one of the chapters in the book.
