As Oliver learns about the characteristics of the President of the United States, he realizes his teacher has many of the same characteristics.
Activity Ideas
Brainstorm a list of characteristics of the President or a good leader. Use the list to set up plans for a mock election and determine the best candidates for the job from a group of literary characters.
Develop slogans for bumper stickers, campaign posters and buttons for each of the candidates. Use a computer drawing program such as Kid Pix™ or Pixie2™ to design and print on cardstock or various pintables from Avery™. Regular art supplies can also be used.
