Literature Links for Primary
Snowy White World to Save
Snowy White World to Save*
written by Stephanie Lisa Tara
This gentle story introduces listeners or readers to the environmental concerns of global warming. A polar bear familily’s day-to-day activity and struggle to survive illustrate its effects. The story ends with a hopeful message and lists ideas for continuing the fight against global warming.

Activity Idea:
Conduct a postcard campaign to spread the word about global warming. Using the Postcard Creator tool at Read, Write and Think’s website, students create a postcard to be shared with family, friends or a buddy student in another class. After typing their message and printing, students can draw a picture or find one to print from the internet to finish their postcard.
