You Can't Take a Balloon into the National Gallery
- You Can't Take a Balloon into the National Gallery
written by Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman and Robin Glasser
- Stories told through pictures alone can be a springboard for developing oral language skills and writing original stories. This is a very clever story without words. Since the balloon is not allowed inside the gallery, an adventure unwinds in Washington, D.C. Watch for the many historical figures in the book.
Activity:
After reading several wordless books, give students a digital camera to capture their school day. Insert the pictures into a slideshow to view as a wordless book. Then ask the students to write a sentence or two about the picture on each slide.
