6+1 Traits®: Word Choice
- Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster

- Sage misunderstands a word, which creates a series of events. Enjoy this funny book and afterwards have a dialogue about words and their meanings.
Activity: After brainstorming vocabulary words from a unit of study or from a current reading, student will make a “vocabulary hat” using bags, paper plates, newspaper, and take to make hats illustrating the words. Have a “vocabulary hat” parade and videotape it to share with other classes or parents.
