The following are possible ideas or activities to use.
- Green Power: Eco-Energy without Pollution
by David Jefferis (Crabtree Publishing, 2006)
- Topics in this book include hydroelectricity, ocean power, solar heating, solar electricity, wind turbines, nuclear power, geothermal fuels, and biofuels. Each topic has detailed information along with pictures or diagrams. The last three chapters include ideas about saving energy, cleaner highways, and the future.
Activity: Environmental Explorers
Students observe and document natural and human features in their local environment during a walk around the neighborhood or a trip downtown. Students then evaluate the impact of changes made by humans, such as the leveling of an area for a subdivision or damming of a local stream or river.
